The locals say this is really unusual to be out of power this much. Probably half the time we have been here we have been out of power. It gets dark by about 6:15-6:30. People are in bed early here anyway. Especially the friends are in bed by 8:00. People rise early here to beat the heat. We can still cook because we have propane. Our water is gravity fed once the tanks are pumped full. So showering is no problem. We also eat a lot lighter here. We have had chicken twice. Other than that it is all fruit and vegetables. We went in service today with hats only not umbrellas. Yikes, I didn't get the sun screen lathered on enough. Even wearing spf 30 my arms got burned. Friday is usually not a service day here, maybe just calls or studies. But Reggie had it announced to meet for working territory. The two local pioneers showed up, so Reggie and I each worked with a pioneer. They use their bibles very skillfully. We can definitely learn from them. They work alone often and so were happy to have others to work with. The pace is a very slow walk, each door we spend time sharing scriptures and have a discussion. I love the pace here. Tomorrow will be a longer day. We will meet back in the territory. The entire congregation meets together but there are only 30 sum publishers. So we get ready on the side of the road and start working door over door. We started at the far end of Mahaiconys east side and work west. I believe it is maybe 12 miles from end to end. We live in Good Faith so only about 4 villages from the the east end. Each village is like a neighborhood, they are all joined together. When we get farther west we will have to start catching a mini bus. After morning service we go clean the kingdom hall. Critters can get in, birds etc. So it is important each week to clean. After that, Reggie and I will do some bible studies for the couple out of town on vacation in Suriname. The following weekend we will have our SAD in Georgetown. We are really looking forward to that. Well time to close up the windows so the mosquitos don't get in. Until next time, Kelly and Reggie. I will post some random pictures.
