Campaign

We did good today. We had 11 out in service this morning so we got to cover a lot of ground. It has been sweltering hot today. I wish I would have taken a photo of the ground after we had a rain shower. Thick steam was rising. Jennifer brought us a gift this morning. Guavas from their tree and the much sought after log cabin maple syrup. Never mind that it is the sugar free kind, it is still a taste of home. The guyanese make their pancakes really sweet and so don't use syrup. It is really hard to find. They also brought us their bikes to borrow. Yee Haa! We have wheels. 1st we have to go to the hardware store and get bells for them. It is a law now to have a bell. You have to ring it to let people know that you are advancing on them. Jennifers bike has baskets so that will be great for shopping. After service I went with Jennifer on two of her studies which is always a treat. Reggie and Dave were off to the Hall to get things planned for the memorial. After that we went to the produce stand. We are continuing to feel more settled here. It's a nice leisurely pace. You don't move to fast around here. ( Only the traffic ) I got a picture of Noel and Amy this morning on their way to service in their territory. It's about 20 min. farther down the highway. On Monday nights they go look after an elderly special pioneer bro. to give others a Add Imagebreak. I guess the brother has been serving here some 40 years. Since we are living here now Amy feels safe and decided to stay home. We gave her one of the radios to call us if she got scared. We teased her about it really being a grown up baby moniter.
We got an e-mail from Bro. Lopez in Lethem this morning. He said he has an apartment for us to stay in behind his house when we come to Lethem. Only $35.00 for the week. That is great as the hotels are about that much a night. Looking forward to being there but not the 14hr. plus bus ride. Yikes!
For pictures today I have a couple of our service group before everyone arrived and Noel and Amy heading out on their scooter. Love to all R&K

  1. That is pretty exciting that you will be able to see a bit of country while you are there without paying to much.
