The right place at the right time

We made our morning calls to see who was going out and when. Friday is bible study day. So after a brief rain at 9:00 am we walked from Good Faith to the next village (or neighborhood) Recess to meet Sister Ramsey. Then we walked to the next village Calcutta. There we made a RV and then had a bible study with Beverly a newer study. She is on the first chapter of the Bible Teach book. With newer studies who haven't had the luxury of an education we start out slow. Maybe two paragraphs at one study. You need patience and empathy. This woman is raising at least 5 grandchildren and has a very small simple structure for a home. And yet she takes time out to try and learn something about the Bible. I would like to spend a day at one of the local schools to see what the teachers actually do there. People absolutely are not taught to think. The first goal is helping them to identify the correct answer in the paragraph. Then try to explain with simple illustrations. After that we walked back to Recess where Reggie had a RV. The woman wouldn't come to the window (it's a store) so the man came and I think he said they were quarreling, he was smiling so I think he was the one in trouble. So we walked back to our house and filled up with cold water. That's when Jennifer jetted by in her purple mini and picked us up to go on studies near the kingdom hall. Sister Ramseys was home so we left her. We dropped Reggie and then Jennifer and I went to Abi the one that came to the memorial. Well she couldn't study today and Reggie was already walking back to meet us. So we pulled over near the market so Reggie could go pick up some limes from Sister Abrams stand. Good thing we were in the shade as we waited for some time for those limes. I figured knowing Reggie that he would make a pass through the market where we had gone yesterday to see if he could talk to someone. It turns out someone found him! An Ameri-Indian man greet him and asked him to stop. He said he noticed that we came through the market yesterday. He asked Reggie if he was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. YES so Reggie placed magazines with him. What is interesting is that this man lives in the Ameri-Indian village 90 miles up river that we were originally hoping to go to for the memorial but it just didn't work out. It has been several years since anyone has witnessed up there. He said he really appreciates the work we do and wanted to make arrangements for us to come. Reggie said he needed to contact Capt. Collins for permission. Through this man we found out that he is no longer capt. So he takes Reggie to a woman who knows the new captain and she says she will hand carry a letter to him. They really want us to come. They exchanged phone numbers and Reggie said we would be in contact after our trip to Lethem. It's funny how he happened to run into them today as they are so far from home. It's good to be in the right place at the right time. Don't know how it will work with so many brothers getting ready to leave. This past month two need greater elders from the states have had to return home for medical reasons. They are the only elders in their congregations. One is from Mahaica the next town up towards Georgetown. Reggie is giving the talk there Sunday and then head back home to gather our stuff and then back to Georgetown for our interior trip. I really hope something will work out that we can make the trip before the rains come. We are having dinner with the Peeles tonight. I think she is making a roast beef. That will be a first since February. I took a picture of her little purple car today. She said she has fit 7 in there before. Hmmm? Oh and a random picture, don't you love our house keys?
