Maybe some of you are waiting to hear about our trip to the interior of Guyana. But since some of you have already heard about my accident I thought I would give an update about that first. You know how some movies start at the end of the story and then go back to explain how it all began. We did have a very good trip, we were so glad we went to see the other Guyana. I was having the time of my life that Friday. I went out in service with one of our local ameri-indian sisters. Wow does she have zeal and teaching ability for being in the truth 2 years. For an afternoon treat we went to Moco Moco Falls. I think it's something all the friends look forward to when they visit out there. There happened to be three brothers from Charity also visiting Lethem. They had been to Brazil and were looking to go to the falls. One of the brothers was a cheese greater from South Africa and knows the Campbellguilles family, So brother Lopez got a local brother with a pick up to haul us all out there. First we stopped at the Kingdom Hall, it so fits the territory, thatched roof and all. Then we stopped by bro. Altons house, he even has a benab. Its like a big covered picnic area with a thatched roof. They are really cool when its hot out. So we asked his family to come along. The 5 kids that are still at home hopped in along with his wife Maureen. Now we have 14 in a little 1980 toyota PU. I was loving riding in the back of the pickup, haven't done that since I was a kid. We are traveling from savannah to the Mts. the Kanuku. It is so beautiful I can't explain how satisfied I feel. It's great to be a part of Jehovahs organization, be with friends from all over the world, work together and then play together and enjoy this big beautiful earth he has given us. Well we park the truck and we have to climb down to the water, Reggie says I always exaggerate, but isn't that an exageration. But it was really rocky so I add a few feet. 15 feet maybe I'm not a good gauge but well call it a canyon:) Bro. Alton crosses the log and stops to eat his farine out of a can. WE LAUGH AT HIM. He raises cassava which then you can make farine. He helps us across the log and we start up the path to the falls and pool. I say start becase I only made it a few feet. I slipped in my flip flops and heard my ankle crack and down into the water I went. I could feel the shock hitting me. Reggie pulled me out and they got me to a place to lay me down with my leg in the water. Take my breath away. I urged everyone to go on while I rested. Sister Maureen stayed with me and rubbed some brazillian ointment on my leg. Well her and I talked and talked. This family is so giving and kind. Like others that we have met here. You just have to love them. Their 5 children were a joy. I wanted to take a couple of them home with me. They have faced untold hardship and yet Jehovah loves and supports them. I will have lots to share about them when I get home. Reggie did get pictures of the falls for me. But I think I'll have to come back and see them for my self. It took brother Lopez and Stephani (Alton's 17 year old) to carry me across the water. I had to crawl up the rocks on my hands and knees. Lethem doesn't do xrays on afternoons and weekends. Great. I ended up flying out of Lethem. Reggie took the bus ahead of me and met me in Georgetown. Bro. Lopez and Stephani had to carry me to the plane. Well I ended up having surgery and spent 3 days in the hospital. Plates, screws ect. I had two serious fractures and an open displaced joint and torn tendons. Yikes! thanks to the Peeles and Bro. Morrison for shuttling us back and forth. You find out in a hurry you need you brothers. But feel bad because we wanted to be here to help, not receive it. Kalima and Sandra a sister from the branch came to check on me and it was a very welcome visit. The hospital was old, the equipment was fossil like but when in rome, right? I think I'm repaired and now need time to heal, lots of it. It is sad that this event will cut our trip short. But my experiences will carry me for quite some time. My next few post will be more positive about our trip. Thanks for getting me home today Bro. Peele I feel like a million dollars just getting in my own bed. I found out with that hospital bed that I am the princess and the pea!!!! Love to all R&K
